| Class averages will be made up of the following: 40% Tests Made up of the entire unit that was disscussed in class. Timely notice will be given before the test is actually given.
30% Quiz Made up of 2 or 3 sections, ususally notice will be given a day in advance. There will be 2 quizzes per unit.
20% Class Participation Made up of morning quizzes, notebook checks, and student behavior. Morning quizzes will be 10 or so questions based on anything I feel the student should know at that point in time. The quiz can include previous sections, chapters, and even Algebra 1 material. If it is missed because of an excused absence then it does not need to be made up. If the quiz is missed due to an unexcused absence then it will be an automatic 0. Notebook checks will be made at my discretion. I will be checking for Name, date, subject, section number and pages found in the book at the top of the page, four examples of what we learned, and at least one question that you would like to know that was not discussed in class. If you are absent I will expect you to get the material missed from either me or a fellow student.
10% Homework Homework will be checked daily. Each assignment is based on a 3 point scale. If a homework assignment is missed or a low grade is given, that grade can be improved with 20 minutes of straight work with a math teacher for an addition of one point. I am available before school, after school, and during a number of periods. Also if you have the ability to seek help from another teacher through the school's Math Help Lab. If you choose to use a teacher is not myself a note must be made attesting to the fact that you were working on appropriate work for 20 minutes
