9/2 Went over course content and expectations. Discussed the terms "anatomy and physiology". Discussed how prefixes and suffixes can give information about what medical terms mean. Did "Medical Terminology " worksheet. HW- Read the article "The Visible Man" and do questions attached. Also get class expectations signed.
9/4 Collected signed expectations. Went over content and questions. Reviewed terms anatomy and physiology. Discussed levels of organization of the body from atoms to organizm. Viewed the anatomical position. Discussed positions supine and prone. Practiced directional terms using body movements and practice sheet. Went over planes of the body. Received diagrams. HW- Read Chapter 1 in text
9/8 Review directional terms and movements. Go over body cavities (diagrams). Practice Abdominopelvic regions with puzzle activity and diagrams. Cover 4 quadrants of the body and 2 divisions (axial and appendicular). Notes will be given.
HW- STUDY FOR A QUIZ ON CHAPTER 1
9/10 Quiz on Chapter 1. Discuss detailed body regions and fill in parts using book and worksheet. Go over feedback loops and homeostasis. Assign Organ Systems to pairs of students. Find major organs involved and function(s) of the system. A poster will need to be created and an oral presentation will be given next class with your partner. HW- Study and prepare for oral presentation.
9/12 Finish up creating poster for presentations (20 mins. max). Do Oral presentations of body systems with partner. Students will fill out a body system chart during presentations.
